Remember we drive on the left in
paradise!
Don’t drive on the beaches. It’s illegal & it disturbs endangered sea
turtle nesting habitat.
The terrain here is gently rolling
hills. The roads are mostly paved, with an occasional pot-hole.
After the rain, it’s difficult to tell how deep those pot-holes are,
so be sure to go through them slowly. Otherwise, you might bust a
tire. Another thing to be aware of is a bush or tree with large
thick thorns, called acacia (locals call it a cashew tree). If you
drive off the paved road, you may run over them, & they are strong
enough to go through your tire. These tiny punctures are
unrepairable. You will get a flat, & the tire will have to be
replaced.
You have unlimited mileage. It’s an island, knock yourself out!
We provide you with a very good map & the current issue of St. Croix
This Week, a great guide of everything to do & see.
